Mas Garriga is a country house steeped in history. It is of medieval origin, and is documented in the fourteenth century under the name Joan Mas. It was rebuilt in the sixteenth century called Mas de Munt Llorens, and extended in the current century with the final name. The latest reform of the farm has allowed courts to enable the old cottage to welcome tourists. Mas Garriga does always been dedicated to agriculture and livestock, and now al’arboricultura.

The walking foot is our most recommended activity for its simplicity and because they allow to know the surroundings. You can walk still and feel part of the landscape for local roads between fields and scattered farmhouses, and the old roads that connected the villages.

We recommend some itineraries for walking and cycling:

1. In Sant Feliu de Guixols on the Greenway bike Carrilet

Perfect for a day trip by bike to swim at the beach. This greenway follows the route of the old train in Olot, and you can take in Riudellots. The terrain is almost flat, with a height of 130 meters over 35 kilometers, and the greenway is well signposted.

2. . Three options for rural roads of Sant Andreu

West side Sant Andreu, north

• Itinerary: Plan Benaula Can Dance, Can Batlle, church
• Duration: 45 minutes walking
• Characteristics: very little traveled dirt roads except the return from church

West side of St. Andreu, South

• Itinerary: Can Goal Can Ramionet Can Bellera, returning to the road and the church
• Duration: 1 hour walk
• Characteristics: It can be longer or returning to Can Can Ralet Mates. Little traveled dirt roads except the return

East side of Sant Andreu

• Route: Church Can Boot, Cal God Can Torrent, backtrack
• Duration: 2 hours walk
• Characteristics: very little traveled dirt roads except the stretch from the church back

3. Five routes to rural roads to other towns

Ermita del Remei (Campllong) to Cassà

• Itinerary: Can Vidal Campllong, the cure, returning to Can Dalmau, Cal Pozo landlord and the Church of St. Andrew

Old road to Caldes

• Itinerary: Can Goal Can Gelabert Can Solà Gros, becoming the old way by Mas Benaula Caldas in Girona.
• Duration: 3 hours walk
• Notes: To make cycling. All for just traveled dirt roads. Follow the old paths of Sant Andreu de Caldes Caldes and Riudellots in Girona. It crosses the river and the railway Benaula

To Franciach

• Itinerary: Plan Benaula, railway, Ponsa Torre; return to Can Rovirola
• Duration: 2 hours walk
• Notes: It crosses the stream Benaula

Easily accessed by car. Mas Garriga be found at:

• 20 minutes from Playa d’Aro and Sant Feliu de Guixols on the C-31. Route in Sant Feliu de Guíxols
• 30 minutes of Tossa de Mar on the GI-681. Route in Tossa de Mar
• 40 minutes from the C-31 to Palafrugell. Route Palafrugell

Another option is to go by bus company SARFA (with stops in Caldes and Cass).

It is located 15 minutes from Girona and 20 minutes from the Costa Brava.

1. Access by road:

Mas Garriga (Sant Andreu Salou) is very accessible and easy for your easy link to the A-7 motorway and N-2.

From the A-7 motorway, exit 8 (Riudellots): Take the C-25, crossing the village Riudellots and turn right at the roundabout where the diversion signals in Sant Andreu Salou. At 3 km is indicated on the left arrive at the Mas Garriga see route highway exit 8 (Riudellots to the Jungle / Girona Airport).

From the A-7 motorway, exit 7 (Sant Feliu de Guixols): Take the N-2 towards Girona leaving them in the right turn signposted to Caldes de Malavella. Cross the village and turn right at roundabout signposted in Cassa de la Selva (GIV-6741), and after 2 km. detour by turning left signposted Salou Sant Andreu. Crossing the center of town and 1 km is indicated on the right arrival in Mas Garriga see route motorway exit 7 (Caldes de Malavella).

2. Access by train (line Barcelona – Port Bou)

There RENFE railway stations (http://www.renfe.es/horarios/) Caldes de Malavella and Riudellots. From Caldes can take a taxi and get to the Mas Garriga in 10 minutes (taxi service Caldes de Malavella: Jordi Perales Jimenez, telephone 609 780 891)

Note: the ticket is worth about 6 euros in Barcelona leaves every half an hour it takes to get a little over an hour.

3. International access by air, bus and train

Mas Garriga has good international links because it is 8 km. Girona Airport (Aeroport de Girona) with a hundred daily flights especially Ryanair. There you can rent a car or take a taxi that takes you to the Mas Garriga in 13 minutes.
